We develop long term and significant relationships with a relatively small number of organisations.

This is helped by proactive research and networks by our team, trustees and colleagues, rather than an open application process. Our experience has led to a flexible grant making approach, adapting to changing circumstances, with three evolving models.

How we help

We will use our resources to help catalyse fresh ideas and organisations, build evidence for transfer, adaptation, sustainability and scale, and influence systems through collaboration.

Find out more about the grants we have made recently.

Start up

Early stage innovations or organisations; a strong track record of leadership or lived experience. Passionate, with vision and ideas about how to create and track change; potential to influence and/or scale. Adding value and diversity in the sector

Step up

Projects or programmes supported by independent evidence. Building, transferable, sustainable and cost effective approaches with high potential or capacity to influence policy and practice, or work across multiple locations.

Step together

Partnerships and collaboration for greater impact. Influential leadership with systems level ambition, and ability to convene key stakeholders. Working together where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

We also fund a small number of action focused research initiatives, where we can see real possibilities of putting the findings into practice.
